People from all different places come to this marketspace for all kinds of things! Tankshal market is a small alleyway situated in old Ahmedabad, surrounded by beautiful historical structures. This place houses a beautiful jewellery market.


Shops that are majorly seen in the market were of costume jewelleries, tailors, moti (beads), bridal wear, silver wear, silver cutlery, religious and holy statues, chaandi ni varak (silver foiling for sweets) and tailors. These shops are usually displayed in bright colours like yellow and red to attract more customers. 

Shops that are on the second floor of a building used hanging method of  products on the windows to display them for the customers out on the streets so that they get to know what is being sold in their shops. Majority of the shops uses cash payment method. The concept of UPI and online transactions haven't been explored by them much and because there are whole sellers cash payment method is an easier and viable option for them. 



The shops in tankshal market opens at 10am and closes at 9pm. The market stays shut on Sunday's, during religious holidays and special days the market timings may differ or even be found closed.
The peak hours of the markets is during the afternoon from 3-6pm.
